Why does the online course evaluation ask the same questions as the pencil and paper form?
The overwhelming consensus at the beginning of the project from the faculty and staff consulted was that we should not change the basic set of questions as we transition to an online evaluation system. The primary reason for this is that we want to be able to measure any impact on the average and mean scores from the transition. By keeping the basic questionnaire the same for at least a year, we will have the ability to determine if the online evaluations are higher or lower on average. After we have the data to understand any difference, we will explore improving the questions and the form.
