Why does the screen go blank when I play downloaded games on Nintendo Wii.?

If the downloaded games that are giving you problems were originally released for the NES or the SNES then I believe I have the solution for you. Steps: 1. Connect a Nunchuk to the Wii Remote. 2. Select the Virtual Console game from the Wii menu, then select “Start” to begin the game. 3. When the game starts, press the Home button on the Wii Remote 4. Select “operations manual” from the Home menu 5. Press the Z, A and 2 Button simultaneously (Z button is on the Nunchuk). A sound will be heard if the button combination has been entered correctly. 6. Close the home menu. The game display should now be correct. You will only need to do this once as the Wii will remember this setting. Why this happens: The older virutal console games default to displaying only 240 lines of video. Some HDTVs are unable to display a signal with only 240 lines. These steps tell the Wii to output 480 lines of video instead.
