This is an issue in the drive that is corrected in firmware update 1.04 or higher for Windows. If you are experiencing this issue, update to the latest firmware and it should be corrected. On a Mac system this is an issue with the way that Mac addresses Samba. There is no current fix for this issue, as all Linux based systems exhibit this same problem.
