Why does WebCCTV NVR look more like a PC than a VCR that I am more familiar with?
The marketplace for digital video recording has evolved into 2 primary technologies. Those that are hardware based and those that are software based. You will find on hardware based systems that the recording and playback functions are mechanically controlled by buttons on the unit much like the old VCRs. With the rapidly changing technology it is easy to see that video recorders using these technologies will be quickly outdated and rendered obsolete.
