Why doesn the black hole at the center of the Milky Way have an accretion disk?

I’m not sure this is completely understood. There are apparently no stars near enough to it to feed it continuously with matter and create an accretion disk (or at least, a large enough disk to create a lot of x-rays). Possibly it’s already eaten its nearest neighbors and is currently on a starvation diet.
