hammer…spoken like someone who has never been to a NHRA national event. There is nothing I mean nothing like two nitro cars screaming past you down the track…the ground shakes…your body shakes and talk about excitement. I mean we’re talking about the fastest accelerating vehicle on the planet. A top fuel dragster runs a quarter mile in 4.5 seconds and upwards of 330 mph all in 1320 feet or a quarter mile for those into the whole brevity thing (sorry I didn’t convert it into metrics for ya) I too have been disappointed in Yahoo’s lack of coverage of NHRA events. I think they need to address it. There are twice as many oval tracks as drag strips in this country but three times as many people drag racing as roundyround. It happens to be the second (to NASCAR) most popular type of racing in the US.
