Why don OceanLED use polycarbonate for the lens?
For the same reason divers goggles are not made from plastic or polycarbonate lenses neither do we. From results of extensive long term testing we have found that although it does offer great strength but clouds/yellows overtime in salt water and can be very easily scratched diminishing the light output. It is impossible to polish the surface back to new, unless a flame is applied which should only be done by a plastics specialist.
