Why don’t pilots bring the noise to their homes?
Some pilots live within Class B airspace therefore federal regulations prohibit this activity. Class B airspace extends from Boston to approximately Route 495. However, many pilots live outside Class B airspace but choose not to bring the noise to their homes. In 2001, the FAA hosted a meeting with acrobatic pilots and one attendee, Dick Bunker of the Massachusetts Aeronautics Commission, mentioned that when asked, none of the pilots wanted their noise affecting their neighbors.
