Why don the SECuRET applications continue to capture when running in the background?
All the SECuRET applications obviously use the camera on your Android device. The camera is a hardware resource that can be claimed by any application running on your Android device and is therefore also a shared resource. When an application starts to run in the background it allows other applications to run. Therefore, because other applications may want to use the camera whilst a SECuRET application is running in the background the claim on the camera has to be relinquished so that the other application has it’s chance to use the camera; there’s simply no choice in the matter as not doing so would be far to risky to the stability of the Android device. Hence, when running in the background, the SECuRET applications have no claim on the camera and so are prevented from capturing.
