Why has InSinkErator initiated this recall to repair program?

InSinkErator is conducting this recall to repair program in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) because with some dispensers, if water leaks from the metal holding tank within the affected units, it can wet the insulating material and can cause electrical arcing and heat build-up within the dispenser. This poses a fire hazard. When InSinkErator became aware of the potential problem posed by this situation, we immediately brought it to the attention of the CPSC.
