Why has Nokia has not extended the free navigation feature to other Nseries phones with GPS capability?

Nokia effectively drew a ‘line in the sand’ when they announced free navigation – providing it to a set of ‘current’ devices but not retrospectively for all. The reasons cited were the technical complexity of doing it (device memory was a challenge) and the cost given the volumes of users being addressed and normal handset replacement cycles. Expect to see free navigation on all future devices with the possible brief exception of any new Maemo-based devices when they first launch if there are timing issues porting the product.
