” Any ideas as to why? • INTPLibrarian |57 pointswritten 7 months ago Not at all in answer to whether or not the data he’s writing about it good or not, but a LOT of older research data is completely ignored by today’s researchers. If it’s not available online than it’s invisible to them. Even though lots of journals have made their older content available online, the content has to be purchased by a library that’s likely already paid for the same data in print. Then again, a lot of journals haven’t yet digitized their older content either. It’s amazing how many researchers will limit their lit searches to articles that are available immediately in full-text online. EDIT: It looks like this particular article in BMJ is online and available at PubMed Central • realdpk |5 pointswritten 7 months ago Yeah, but can you blame them? When I was doing a research paper I ran across several promising articles that were not available online (for free) or at my school’s library
