The BBC footage, which has surfaced on the internet recently, and was broadcast originally on September 11th, 2001, as the events were unfolding, shows a BBC journalist announcing that building 7 in the World Trade Centre complex has just collapsed; yet the camera shows the building in the background, clearly still standing. The timestamp shown on the film is approximately 20 minutes before building 7 actually did collapse. The notion that building 7 was brought down by planted demolition charges has long been a favourite theme of the September 11th conspiracy theorists. They seize on the BBC footage as evidence of this, claiming that the BBC, with strong ties to the British government, must have been “in on it” and therefore knew that the building was going to collapse before it actually did.
