Why have Jews undergone so much persecution throughout history?
U have to remember that although Jews have been persecuted throughout history so have other groups of people.People place so much emphasis on the Jews because so many were massacred during the holocaust. If it weren’t for the holocaust people wouldn’t single out Jews so much today. Do we forget about Muslims, blacks, Hispanics,Asians, and even Christians. People forget that Jews use to persecute Christians all the time. I believe that Hitler’s beliefs contributed to the today’s intolerance of Jews, but also because they’re considered to some Christians as the people who killed Jesus and since Christianity evolved from Jesus they’re is a constant animosity between the two groups. And this animosity has been for centuries. Everyone always look for a scapegoat, and I believe Jews just have the misfortune of being historys’.
Many groups have been persecuted throughout history, not just the Jews. But the Jews do seem to have received significantly more persecution in a much wider variety of circumstances than most. Why would that be? I have Jewish friends. I deeply admire the sense of community within the Jewish faith and secular activities. But I must say I find their arrogant belief that they are better than others — which is also enshrined in their religion (“you are the chosen people”) — to be extremely distasteful. While it does not excuse the unbalanced level of persecution that the Jews have faced, I do believe that simple fact may *explain* it.
