Why have the coal companies changed the name of longwall mining so many times?
This was done to deflect the adverse publicity being received in the local newspapers by Citizen Organizations and individual landowners. It started out as longwall mining, then it became planned impact mining, then it was changed back to longwall mining and then in a recent article published in the local County newspapers, it was called simply coal mining by the exalted leader of Hillsboro Energy, Mr. Dennison.
