Why Homestead Soaps?
We keep our products as natural and simple as possible. All soaps are made from scratch, which is only possible with lye. There is no lye in your finished soap. Lye is used to saponify the chosen oils and make soap. These days lye soaps are the most gentle and nourishing soaps you can find. Our soaps do not contain all of the harsh, manmade additives that commercial and melt/pour bars do. I do not use any colorants or additives that don’t add some sort of beneficial element to the soap. If you see some beneficial additives that you’d like to see with a different scent let us know and we can whip up a batch! All bars are cured for at least 4 weeks to ensure that you receive a nice hard, long lasting bar. Also, you can enjoy the full lather that each bar will give you.
