Why I got “Unexpected file format” when I tried to open the exported FLA file in Macromedia Flash program?
Sothink SWF Decompiler 5.x supports exporting SWF file into the format for Flash 6, Flash MX 2004 (7.0), Flash 8, Flash CS3 (9.0) and Flash CS4 (10.0). If you open it in the old version of Flash program, there will be such an error because the FLA file generated by Flash 5 and Flash MX are quite different. If that doesn’t solve your problem, please send your original SWF file to support@sothink.com to have a check.
