A formal contract is required for a consultant because a contract will protect the University’s title to all materials produced by the consultant. It will also protect the University on issues concerning insurance, indemnification, reporting, confidentiality, and price warranty. Consultants are excluded from EZPO use to ensure that a contract is in place before payment is made.
