Why is an online HSAT assessment completed within the past 3 years required to achieve 2nd Place, 1st Place or 1st Place with Special Honors?
The Healthy School Action Tool (HSAT) assessment is a tool designed to help schools identify their strengths as well as areas in need of improvement so schools can be health-promoting environments. Using the online HSAT assessment rather than only a print version allows school teams immediate feedback as well as convenient access to further information about a topic from the resource links provided. The online HSAT also provides a way for HSERP staff to verify that a school has met this requirement. In order to receive an upper level placing in HSERP it is required that a school has completed an HSAT assessment within the past 3 years. This demonstrates that a school team has recently reviewed their strengths and areas needing improvement as one step in committing to and achieving a healthy school environment. For the 2009-2010 HSERP award cycle schools must have competed as HSAT assessment between September 1, 2006 and January 15, 2010. To see if your school completed an HSAT assessme
