Why Is Bacillus Resistant to Disinfectants?

Bacillus bacteria are found everywhere in the world, from the depths of our digestive system to the depths of the ocean. Many of these bacillus species are harmless, and many of them are even necessary for life. For example, the species of bacillus found in our intestine (known as E. coli) helps digest our food and produces vitamins we use in our bodies. However, when these bacteria are found outside the gut, they can cause disease.
