Why is certain pet insurance (tortoise) so expensive?
Often this is because tortoise insurance is classed as exotic pet insurance. I appreciate that it may be stretching things to claim a tortoise is exotic, but it’s not your run of the mill cat or dog or hamster. Exotic pet insurance tends to be cheaper; not least because other exotic pets, like snakes, pose more risk for an insurer than a rabbit. You may want to compare deals on exotic insurance: you may be able to find a good deal for your tortoise! Bear in mind that the more expensive policies may include more service extras however, like travel insurance and free health check ups.
