Why is DoDEA using DoDEA Regulation 5302.1?

0

DoDDS educators frequently attend Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) sponsored training in order to develop professionally (i.e., workshops, staff development, etc.). The primary change with DODEA Regulation 5302.1 is the manner in which the educator will be paid as authorized during the school year. Previously, the teachers/administrators attended a training session and, in effect, waited until the end of the school year to receive compensation. They had to receive a recess appointment at the end of the year to cover the days they attended the training. The regulation provides an option to the principal to get the educator paid closer to the time the training was completed. The principal can submit enclosure 3 to the regulation to the customer service representative who will forward it to payroll for processing and payment. This will be similar to how educators get paid for completing an extra-duty assignment.
