Why is Holy Communion important to Christians?
Holy Communion is important to we, as Christians, because it strengthens our relationship with Christ our Lord through it. When we receive His body and His blood worthily, He dwells in us and we in Him. It truly is the real presence of the Lord, which brings a real fellowship of His followers. Before He was betrayed, Jesus told His apostles to eat the bread (His body) and drink the wine (His blood) in remembrance of Him. This practice has been continued since then as a way of remembering the sacrifice of God’s one and only begotten son, who paid the ultimate price for the atonement of our sins.
