Why is it a good idea to not have a pond when you have cat?

Some cats enjoy having a pond! It depends on what your cat is like but it is a good idea to not have a pond too. About two years ago, my cat was nothing but fluff and she was walking on the ice and fell through. I was at school then. My mom was packing her lunch to go to work and when she looked out the window she saw her under the ice. When she got her out she took her to the vet. It was too late. But if you do have a pond it’s a good idea to keep it inside in the winter and when the pond freezes. Otherwise, in the Spring Summer and early Fall they will stay away unless they enjoy it.
