Why is it important to learn the rules of netiquette?
It’s just as important as learning to spell words properly so people can grasp the question. However, in a discussion group on-line there would have to be some semblance of established etiquette in order to have a variance where one can express subtle non-verbal tone or emphasis as with the “ALL CAPS” indication of yelling. Certain phrasing can indicate sympathy, hate or one being adamant about an issue or towards an individual. Having non-verbal communication rules sets a commonality in which all participants can have equal understanding within the discussion group.
