The presence of transgenic crops in the food and feed market has given rise to different regulations in different countries. The European Union (EU) demands the labeling of food and feed containing GMOs, and makes effort to control the dissemination of transgenic plants in the environment. For authorized GMOs in the EU, the labeling threshold is above 0.9%.
