Why is it so expensive for gluten free products?
If you moved to an Asian country such as China, you’d find rice is the staple and almost nothing is made with wheat because that’d be too expensive. The U.S. had vast plains that were ideal for growing wheat, so that became the staple of the U.S. diet while potatoes became the staple of the German diet because potatoes grow underground and can survive the armies marching back and forth over them (harvest after they leave, tho.) France refused to adapt from wheat to potato so they had a revolution-causing famine. Thus, to answer your question, your guten-free products are expensive HERE because the U.S. does so little non-wheat things that we’re not set up for it. You’re paying for someone to do it instead of a machine. You might be served by haunting Chinese markets.
