Why is LARK different to Online Learning and Teaching (OLT) web site?
The University created the Online Learning and Teaching web site for web access to teaching resources used with subjects taught at the University. LARK predates the OLT web site, and ARK could be integrated into such a facility. There are several reasons why this is not as an attractive proposition. Although all Lecture Notes and Tutorial Exercises have all been moved to the OLT system there are other reasons for maintaining a web server for a Linux distribution. Linux is evolving at a fairly rapid rate, RedHat has released at least two versions of Fedora Core in the last year and other Linux software upgrades are released at regular intervals.
