Why is Low Latency important for a Point to Point Wireless backhaul?
Low latency is required when VoIP or Video is being streamed across the wireless link. For a low latency connection, total packet delivery time needs to be 100ms or less. For voice applications, low jitter is also important. Latency is the time it takes for packets to be transmitted between the two radios. Jitter is the variation in latency. It is the difference between the fastest and slowest packets being transmitted on your wireless backhaul. Low jitter is the most important feature when transmitting voice or VoIP across the wireless backhaul.
