Why is Metropolitan Hospital leaving its current location?
The need to replace the existing facility is well established; it is overcrowded, landlocked and in need of significant updating. Also Metro needs to grow to keep up with community demand and to remain competitive. There is no appropriate vacant land near the current hospital, and the new site (which is 7.4 miles away) is far more accessible because of its proximity to current and future expressways.
