Yes– if she’s STILL not house-trained, yes, you need to supervise. Would you let a 2 yo child who isn’t potty trained run around your house without a diaper and not watch them? Start over. Use a crate and/or tether her to you for now. Take her out on the schedule. It’s not about “catching her” in the act. Nobody learned to be potty trained by somebody’s mom by trying to “catch them in the act” to punish them, but for some reason most people think that’s how to potty train a dog! If she thinks that she gets punished when she goes potty, of course she is going to go hide and poop. Because she’s a mini dachsie and not a St Bernard, that’s not hard to do! So, if you know that in the evening, she’s not pooping, then you should keep an eye on her every second. Better yet, be sure to go outside with her and take her for a “poop walk” and the extra activity should stimulate her to poop.
