Why is my black Dalmation Molly fish sad when in breeding net.How many days before she delivers?
I can tell you that breeder nets are dangerous to the fish. They can overstress a fish, which could make her adort her babies, and eventually die. I would suggest letting her go in her regular tank and once she has her fry, pull them out and put them in the breeder net. I breed Mollys as well, and this is what I do. I just let the mama have her tank, and once I notice she is slow, sluggish, not interested in food, or others chacing at her bottom, I keep a close eye for babies, and eventually, just catch them with a cup and put them in the breeder net. I had great success with this my last batch. She had 16, and all grew to be happy, healthy adults. Currently have 5, 2 day old babies in my breeder net, I was not expecting them. 🙂 I would suggest getting live floating plants, that way the fry can hide before u get to them, u will be surprised at what good hiders they are.
