Why is my dog still limping 7 months after cruciate ligament surgery?

After the surgery the dog needs the right physical therapy. My g/f’s Dutch Shepherd ruptured both of hers a year or so apart and I boarded her for 3 week or so each time so I could do her therapy. She was fine after that but had a limited exercise routine. Sudden overexercising on even a non injured dog or person can result in a “stove up” dog, horse or person. Weekend overexercise has permanently crippled many critters. Take her back to the vet and possibly a joint med such as Glycoflex might help. I had to rehab a dog with a FHO whose owners never did and the op was a year old. He went for walks on a harness pulling weights on his bad side to get him to use the leg. It took a few months but he did regain his full use of his leg. BTW, swimming is an excellent exercise for joint problem dogs. Many places have animal swimming tanks with treadmills.
