Why is my Equifax status “Active” and my Experian or TransUnion status “Sent”?

Once your Equifax fraud alert is placed we refer requests to TransUnion and Experian to place fraud alerts on their copies of your credit report. Generally, the alert will be placed on your credit report with all three agencies within 48 hours; however, because we don’t know the status of your fraud alerts at the other two bureaus with 100% certainty, we can only tell you that we have sent the request.
