A humming sound noticed at the Power Opti-Miser unit is a sign your house or business is receiving high voltage and the electrical current is set to high at the meter base. This can occur from time to time and will not damage the Power Opti-Miser unit. The Power Opti-Miser unit is not defective when this happens. For extremely long periods of humming (normally 3 or more consecutive days) contact your local electric utility company and request them to readjust the electrical current at the meter base.
