Why is “quality control” important?
This sounds like an essay topic in an introductory business class. Drawing from current events is always a good idea when writing an essay – it shows your instructor that you are an interested person. It just so happens that right now, in the news, is a great example of what happens when QA fails. I am of course talking about Apple and the iPhone4. Why is quality control important? In Apple’s case, they failed to recognize their product was defective. Apple has lost credibility, which is bad, and if they have to recall their product or provide replacements, then it will cost them money. What does quality mean to me? A quality product is one that works as advertised, for a period of time that I deem to be reasonable (at least for the duration of the warranty). What is it a main issue in organizations today?
