Why Is Sagrada Familia Unfinished?

The Sagrada Familia was planned to be built only through donation and any structure that is planned to be built only the through donation is difficult to finish. Its designer Antoni Gaudi started the construction in the year 1883 and he called the structure ‘Church of the Poor’. He used to make the supervision of the construction until he died in the year 1926. The first 40 years, under the supervision of Gaudi, the main part of the Sagrada Familia was finished. The east façade, the crypt and the Saint Joseph chapel were finished when Gaudi himself was working on the project. In the year 1898, Gaudi made some changes to the original plans to take square towers into bell towers that were round. And which is why, the Sagrada Familia looks so impressive even today.
