Why is the death penalty a more suitable punishment than life in prison?
It is not. The Death Penalty cost the tax payers of the US far more money than life in prison. Anyone who argues otherwise has not got a clue as to what they are talking about. Take in to account the appeals and court costs and the cost is far more then housing the inmate. Life without parole means life without parole. Look at Charles Manson do you really believe he will ever take a breath of free air again? Inmates on Death Row get far more privileges than General Population inmates. Why? The Death Penelty puts the US on the same grounds as countries like China and Iran. Do we not want to seem more civilized than them? Read the book The Chamber by John Grisham, it will change your mind about this subject.
