The Girl Scouts have used the same volunteer model for more than 50 years. The world has dramatically changed since the current structure was implemented and Girl Scouts has not changed with the times. Today’s volunteers have less time to spend volunteering in their community. With this new structure, volunteers will have more time to be directly involved with girls while staff takes more administrative responsibility.
