Why is the Haines Yellow Pages allowed to use the walking fingers logo?
The Haines Yellow Pages is a registered member of both the Association of Directory Publishers and the Yellow Pages Association. As a registered member, the Haines Yellow Pages is permitted to use the Yellow Pages Association logo, the industry’s “Seal of Approval”. Contrary to popular belief, the name “Yellow Pages” and the “walking fingers” logo are not owned by any single phone company or corporation. They are in fact general terms and icons available to directory publishers in the industry. They are not protected by any federal trademark registrations or copyright laws.
