Why is the recommendation for individual therapy routinely made by service providers after evaluating a student?
In the medical setting, the primary, and often only mode, is one-on-one instruction due to the reimbursement procedures. In the educational setting, there are other options that result in improved results. The assumption is often made that one-on-one instruction is better than small group instruction, however effective practice patterns do not support that assumption.
