Why is the USA so frightened of democratic socialism?
those who were brought up during the cold war, were indoctrinated and brainwashed into thinking that “democracy and capitalism” were the only correct ways, and that communism was bad and full of non-christian heathens. It’s tantemount to some kind of crazy religion. They confuse communism with socialism, and use the terms interchangably. They sometimes fail/are unable to differentiate between economic systems and government systems, because the lines have often blurred. They also fail to understand that there are several “socialist” models working in the world which appear to be more successful than their capitalist counterparts in the US. There are many sheep that bleat anything that affects the ability of business to make money is bad for the country, when nothing could be further from the truth. Controlled/regulated growth is always better in the long run than rampant uncontrolled growth – don’t think so? Let your lawn grow without cutting it or weeding it and see what happens. Addi
