Why is the Writing Center such a valuable resource?
You know, that’s an excellent question. The long and short of it is this – we’re writers, too. We know what it’s like to have a question about say, how to cite a source quoted in another source in MLA format, and not know where to go to find an answer. We know how difficult it is to write for different audiences. We know what it is like to have written something and want to share it. We know, also, how difficult it can sometimes be to respond to writing, how challenging it is to know how to articulate strategies for effective writing. Ultimately, we’re here not because students can’t write, but because they do.
