Why is there a price difference on diesel fuel in Indiana for RV lanes and the commercial lanes?

This is unique to diesel fuel sales in the State of Indiana. The “Truck Diesel” price is advertised to those customers who have a DOT registered number, which is the professional/commercial truck customer. The DOT number enables commercial drivers to pay their state sales taxes on a quarterly basis instead of at the pump. RV drivers do not have a DOT number, and pay for sales taxes at the pump. Either way, the sales taxes must be paid. To help clarify our pricing to our customer we advertise our prices as “Truck Diesel” and “Auto Diesel”. Our website pricing also reflects this same concept. If you look the pricing in Indiana, the Diesel pricing is for DOT registered trucks. The gas pricing page lists the Car/RV price which includes the taxes. The Diesel #2 price is the same regardless of which lane you use to fuel, the pricing difference is related to taxes, not product or island.
