Why is there metal truss work supporting the west end of the river bridge?

0

The temporary metal supports under the west end of the river bridge are known as “False work” and were used to support the concrete forms when the west end of the bridge was being constructed. The supports are no longer supporting the bridge but have not been removed by the contractor. Once the contractor removes the false work there is some surface finishing on the bridge that also needs to be completed.
