Why is TICO the only organization providing funding for TPI?
TPI is entirely funded by TICO. Some registrants have questioned why the other participants in the coalition are not contributing financially to the project. In most cases, the other organizations that have been approached by TICO do not have any funding. However, they do have time and manpower to contribute to the project and having them involved with the initiative gives the initiative a higher profile. TICO is a provincial regulatory body. It is trying to encourage the federal government that changes are necessary. To do that, it needs to demonstrate that the issues it is raising are national in scope. The support of the other organizations adds weight to TICO’s arguments. TICO is not including other organizations in the initiative to subsidize them. It requires their assistance to meet its goals and objects.
