Why is Using Formaldehyde in Hair Care Products not a Good Idea?

Formaldehyde is a chemical compound whose formula is H2CO. As you can see, its terminal is carbonyl, therefore it falls into the aldehyde group. It is the simplest aldheyde and as such is very inexpensive. Aqueous solutions of formaldehyde are referred to as formalin, more commonly known as formal. The first syllable ‘form’ gives its name to the specific aldehyde – thus, in this case, formaldehyde.
