Vanity, vanity, thy name is woman... (I'm a woman, and I commiserate. I HATE clothes shopping! It's just because we are so very more interesting and have so many more variations to our shapes than guys have). But a large element is vanity. Clothing manufacturers have changed the clothing sizes up three times since the 80's. I have a pair of pants I bought in 1987 that was marked size 7 then that I was chagrined to wear because it was so big. Well, now it's about a 12 in today's sizes!  more
