For those that wonder why you don’t see pillar candles or tapers here, it’s because of the lower melting point of our soy candles. Without boring you with all sorts of candle science, candle wax comes in different melting points. MP145, for example, is a candle wax that melts at 145 degrees Fahrenheit. To make a candle that will stay in the shape of a taper or pillar you need to use a higher melting point wax perfectly balanced with the heat of the wick so that the outside of the candle (further away from the flame) stays unmelted while the center melts. Some candle makers accomplish the same effect by using two different waxes for their candles, the lower melting point wax used in the center and the higher used on the outer surfaces. Our candles have a such a low melting point (which is why they work so well in melting pots) that they don’t hold there shape when molded into pillar candles or tapers and then burned. This is also why you will want to burn the votives in a relatively tig
