Why not build housing for moderate incomes instead of low and very low?
The City of San Leandro has legal requirements to encourage the development of affordable housing based on Bay Area regional policies governed by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG). To meet their affordable housing needs, the City adopted an Inclusionary Housing Ordinance that requires new development including affordable housing. The ordinance requires the provision of low and very low-income units for rental housing developments.
